The Ram baseball team had a one win, two loss week last week before a busy week ahead.
On Tuesday, May 23, the Rams hosted Nodaway Valley, winning 4-3. Four hits came off the bats of Rams, including a triple from Matthew Hovick. On the field, the Rams had 21 putouts, 10 from eighth grade catcher Jaron Jacobs, and five from first baseman Crew Conner. Noah Hinote took pitching duty for the night, throwing 111 times, allowing five hits with three errors, four walks, two hit batters and nine strikeouts.
The Rams traveled to South Hamilton on Wednesday, falling 7-2. On the field, the Rams had 18 putouts with two errors on 25 total chances. Winters and Hovick pitched, allowing four hits with seven walks and four strikeouts. The Rams had seven hits, all singles.
Friday’s game was a 12-0 at home loss against PCM. No stats were available for the Rams.
The next games on the schedule are a Tuesday game at Van Meter, Wednesday at West Marshall, Friday in Perry and Saturday in Boone for a tournament.
